Henna Rocks!

Embellish yourself with the ancient art of henna!

Welcome to the Beautiful Art of Henna

Henna, or Lawsonia Inermis, is a plant that has been used for thousands of years for beautification.  It's leaves are dried, crushed and sifted into a fine powder.  This powder contains lawsone, or hennotannic acid, which is the dye molecule.  When mixed into a paste with lemon juice, rainwater, tea, etc., the cellulose breaks down and allows the dye to be released! Then this paste can be applied in various ways to any natural surface, be it skin, silk, cotton or wood.  It leaves behind a wonderful stain from light peach to deepest brown. (NEVER black. See 'Black Henna' for more information.)

Why have henna done?

Henna is great any time.  It has been used for blessing, cooling, protection from the sun, decoration and for fun! Whether you like something interesting and temporary  or something sparkly and fabulous for a wedding or other special occasion,  henna has something to offer everyone! A small tattoo-style or traditonal full bridal and everything in between is available to choose from. I offer glitter, gilding and gemstones for added embellishment as well.
